My Philosophy on anti-wrinkle injections
I feel very strongly that anti-wrinkle injections should be used to enhance your natural features and appearance. Anti-wrinkle injections are often linked with a “frozen”, obvious look. In my opinion, this application of anti-wrinkle injections does no favours to either the patient or the product.

Q: What will anti-wrinkle injections do for me?
A: Basically anti-wrinkle injections will treat the wrinkles that form due to the over use of facial muscles. Many people try anti wrinkle creams, which fail to give the desired result. Anti-wrinkle injections is the only effective way to eliminate stubborn frown lines or crow’s feet etc.

Q: I’m not sure it is for me, can I come and have a consultation first
A: Yes, all our patients have a free consultation first. At this visit we take a complete medical history and examine the areas that concern you. Then we can give you our best clinical opinion as to what anti-wrinkle injections can achieve for you. We will answer all the questions you have and address any concerns. In some cases, a patient will not be suitable for anti-wrinkle injections, and we will tell them at this visit. It also gives you a chance to meet the team and see our practice. At this visit, even if you are sure anti-wrinkle injections is for you, we recommend you go away and have a think about all the information you have been given before making a final decision.
Q: What kind of person chooses to have anti-wrinkle injections
A: Our anti-wrinkle injections patient range from mid 20’s to mid 60’s. Some are regular attendees and have been coming for years. Others attend with a special occasion in mind – maybe a bride who doesn’t want her make up to sit in creases in her skin on the big day, or a treat to oneself before a significant birthday. We treat everyone from those who want to look their best on the school run, to patients in the public eye who need to look good in photos and on TV.
Q: What areas can be treated?
A: Anti-wrinkle injections is primarily used to relax muscles in the upper part of the face. If you have horizontal lines on your forehead or wrinkles in between your eyebrows, it is now possible to either eliminate or vastly reduce these using anti-wrinkle injections. Also, if you are unhappy with the appearance of crow’s feet, these can also be treated.
Q: How does anti-wrinkle injections Work?
A:anti-wrinkle injections relaxes the muscles in the treated area. The skin stops being creased, allowing these lines to fade or disappear completely.
Q: What are the side effects?
A: Unwanted side effects are rare. However, in a small number of cases some drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow can occur. These episodes are of a temporary nature. Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes, absolutely. anti-wrinkle injections has been in use as a medical product since 1978. It was initially used for patient with muscular spasms, migraines etc. It is a firmly established medical product with three decades of evidence and history to support its use.
Q: Is it a toxin?
A: Yes – however, there is a difference between something being a “toxin” and being “toxic”. It is used in such small diluted doses; it is in no way toxic.
Q: How long does the appointment take?
A: Normally, the appointment where we administer anti-wrinkle injections takes 10 minutes. We take some pre treatment photos, check if you have any questions and administer the product
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Our patient constantly comment how gentle the procedure it. We use diabetic needles to administer the anti-wrinkle injections, the same needles that diabetic adult and children inject themselves with every day. A slight pricking can be felt, but no more uncomfortable that having your eyebrows waxed/threaded.
Q: What can I expect afterwards?
A: The areas we have injected will be a little red for a few minutes, but this usually settles within 15 minutes. The full effects of the treatment take 10-14 days to be seen. We review every patient after 14 days to make sure they are happy and that the treatment has met their expectations.
Q: How long will it last?
A: This varies with every patient. The first time you have anti-wrinkle injections, it will last approx 4 months, gradually wearing off during this time. For the first couple of years, normally treatments every 6 months are required to maintain the look and re educate the facial muscles. After this, treatments become less frequent, with some patients attending just once a year.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: The initial consultation is free. anti-wrinkle injections treatment cost between €250 and €350 depending on how many areas are treated. There is no charge for the review appointment.
